Account & Data Deletion
Last updated: 21 September 2026
How accounts work in JCABS
JCABS has no public sign-up. JCABS School creates your account in its school-management system and issues your username and password. Because the account belongs to the school’s records, deletion is requested from the school — or from us, if you can no longer reach the school.
How to request deletion
If you are still at the school
Ask the school office to remove your JCABS access. They can do this from the web panel immediately.

If you have left the school, or the office cannot help
Email info@jcabs.in from the address on your school record, with:
- your full name
- your school’s name
- your student admission number or staff ID, if you have it
- whether you want app access removed or your personal data erased
If you are a parent or guardian requesting deletion on behalf of a child, say so and name the child.
We acknowledge requests within 30 days. Because your school controls these records, we verify the request with the school before acting on it.
What gets deleted
Deleted when your account is removed:
- your login and session tokens — the app stops working immediately
- your app profile as shown in JCABS: photo, contact details, addresses
- chat messages you sent through the app
- files you uploaded through the app: homework submissions, leave attachments, documents
- your saved preferences, such as theme and language
Deleted from your phone, by you, at any time:
Signing out of the app clears the session token, your role and your saved preferences from the device. Uninstalling the app removes everything it stored locally.
What is kept, and why
Schools are required to retain academic and financial records, and a deletion request to us cannot override that obligation. Typically the school continues to hold:
- attendance registers, examination marks and report cards
- fee receipts and payment records, for the period its accounting rules require
- admission and transfer records
These are the school’s statutory records, not app data. They remain under the control of JCABS School and are subject to the school’s own retention schedule. Ask the school directly if you want to know how long it keeps them.
Retention period for anything we hold after a deletion request: 90 days — after which it is permanently erased from our systems and from backups on the next backup rotation.
